I'm Erin Jo. I'm thinking, writing, dreaming, mothering, loving, living, praising, BLESSED to be Fiona to my Shrek and Mommy to my four amazing kiddos.

Shrek is "like an onion with many layers" but has a heart of gold. He's my husband and my friend, and we just get better all the time.

lily

lily

Lily is my first baby and only girl. She's smart, funny, tall and kind. Keeping up with this girl is a challenge and a joy. She's terrific!

max

max

Max is one part ogre, two parts lover and all boy! Our little man has a temper but gives the best hugs of anyone I know!

colby

colby

Colby is as ornery as he looks. He flirts shamelessly, even with strangers. He's all mouth and curls and the loudest by far.

Luke is the baby of the family, but holds his own. He's happy and adorable. And he's a terrible sleeper. =)

New Tricks

Our adorable tee ball trio: cousins Jud, Max and Ryleigh

So, a ten-day break from blogging. Not sure how I feel about it. One on hand, it’s a shame. On the other, not so much.

I’ve been busy, as usual. Drinking up the sun, camping with family and friends, sprucing up the place. I actually hurt myself pretty good. I learned two things during the power washing segment of my deck project. One, I LOVE to power wash. Two, my Nike flip flops aren’t really the appropriate footwear for power washing…

It turns out power washers are really strong. Like, strong enough to blow the skin off the top of your foot in an instant. So now I’m not just my normal train wreck of a mother trying to keep all the balls in the air, but a limping train wreck of a mother with a foot that swells and stiffens in the evening when I need it most. Ah, I may be an old dog but I do learn new tricks.

That's our girl in the tie-dyed socks and Coach Roberts off to the right!

Speaking of new tricks, Lily and her softball team pulled some newness tonight. After starting the season with a five-game losing streak, tonight they managed a tie! So we’ll take it! Miss Lily is a pretty good ballplayer. She’s excited and leggy and confident, and those attributes make an amazing combination for a young softball player with plans to continue the sport.

Unfortunately, I didn’t see her play tonight because I was at the tee ball game with two active babies. My arsenal of sweet tea, double stroller, blanket, fruit snacks, Goldfish and a small tote full of tractors, trucks and books only goes so far….

Here’s our tee-baller, who doesn’t stand still. No. Not even for a minute.

Love heather gray and love this kid! Max is a distracted leader on his tee ball team...

So that’s part of what I’m up to lately. I’m thinking and growing and loving and mothering. And learning new tricks everyday.

** My thanks to other mothers Kim Cooper and Missy Antill for these photos. Lord knows I haven’t taken any good ones lately!

Power washers….left Arthur with a 6 inch cut on his arm when he started to drop the handle part when his hand cramped….broke a double pained window in the basement when Felix didn’t know NOT to pick it up. Both times we were just thankful Diego wasn’t around!!! And as far as the ball field stuff, I really miss it!!!!
