I'm Erin Jo. I'm thinking, writing, dreaming, mothering, loving, living, praising, BLESSED to be Fiona to my Shrek and Mommy to my four amazing kiddos.

Shrek is "like an onion with many layers" but has a heart of gold. He's my husband and my friend, and we just get better all the time.

lily

lily

Lily is my first baby and only girl. She's smart, funny, tall and kind. Keeping up with this girl is a challenge and a joy. She's terrific!

max

max

Max is one part ogre, two parts lover and all boy! Our little man has a temper but gives the best hugs of anyone I know!

colby

colby

Colby is as ornery as he looks. He flirts shamelessly, even with strangers. He's all mouth and curls and the loudest by far.

luke

luke

Luke is the baby of the family, but holds his own. He's happy and adorable. And he's a terrible sleeper. =)

Goodness

We’re a busy bunch around here lately. The kids are learning to pick up some of my slack. Lily and Max are little parents. They corral each other and their little brothers. They pour Froot Loops and run Netflix in the early mornings. They know that it takes all of us working together to make this thing work.

I snapped the photo above on my cell. They were eager to get to Julia and Jud’s house. But first, Luke needed some pants!

Fall came fast in southeast Ohio. The hillsides are alive with color, and the nights are so cold! Shrek caved first and turned on the furnace. I concur.

I spent an unexpected day at home today because Luke got a touch of the stomach flu. Aside from the worry of it steamrolling the whole family, I enjoyed some extra time to fold laundry, snuggle babies, and think. I actually got a nap in, which was heavenly.

Tomorrow it will be back to the grind. But today, today was good!

What I feel more than anything is blessed. I hear the craziest stories. The saddest stories. Childhood cancer, moms taken from babies by breast cancer, scary birth experiences, and, even more numerous and staggering, the injustices that are commonplace in countries not so fortunate as ours.

So every day is good. Every blessed day that I get to do laundry, get to change diapers, get to drive to work 90 miles round-trip are noted. All of the days in my life are good.

And an extra blanket on the bed tonight is the next best thing in front of me. So, without any more searching my tired mind, I’m going to get to it. Maybe you’ll get a better version of me next time, but today, I’m settling for good.

Thanks for reminding us all that even a low key day is a blessing and not to take our lives amd days for granted. Hope you get some much needed rest!

Oh sweet friend, we ARE blessed. Thank you for reminding me…I feel as though I am very in tune to that lately. The picture made me giggle. I’m glad that Luke lets them help, Caleb just sits there and screams, “no, I want mommy to do it.” I love it when he does this, b/c he is the only one left that just wants mommy to do it. He appreciates me…hahaha:) Looking forward to catching up with ya:) Love ya!
