Mud and Happiness
Even with that endlessly runny nose, he’s pretty cute, no? My Colby was a little man all weekend at Lake Tweet. He is at such a fun age, and I am not taking it for granted. Because he’s nearly my last, and these ages won’t come again.
But with his nearly-three-year-old independence going on, my Colby went through every drop of water he could find, every mud opportunity there was, and, finally, through every item of clothing I packed for him. He ended the long weekend in a pair of Luke’s shorts and a PJ shirt.
Oh, but the fun! The memories! I needed that weekend there. Needed to feel my roots under my toes. To remember my core and my reasons and myself.
Wasn’t the weather after the rain breathtaking?
I am still worn out, so I’m going to leave you with some of the pictures, which pretty much say it all…

Colby is quite the big brother. He thinks he owns the Gator, which really frustrates the kids who owned it before Colby was even born...

Oh, to be carried... I don't have a photo of Lily from our camping trip. However, she took this one of me and Colby. (Does that count?)

I know this post has been Colby-heavy, but how can I not end on this adorable photo of this sweet, ornery face?

Yep! It was a wonderful camping weekend. The kids were in the creek having a wonderful time! Kids and water, an unbeatable combination. It may mean a lot of hours of joy for kids!
I can’t think of anywhere that the kids are happier, so fun to watch them all. Lake Tweet is the best!
