I'm Erin Jo. I'm thinking, writing, dreaming, mothering, loving, living, praising, BLESSED to be Fiona to my Shrek and Mommy to my four amazing kiddos.

Shrek is "like an onion with many layers" but has a heart of gold. He's my husband and my friend, and we just get better all the time.

lily

lily

Lily is my first baby and only girl. She's smart, funny, tall and kind. Keeping up with this girl is a challenge and a joy. She's terrific!

max

max

Max is one part ogre, two parts lover and all boy! Our little man has a temper but gives the best hugs of anyone I know!

colby

colby

Colby is as ornery as he looks. He flirts shamelessly, even with strangers. He's all mouth and curls and the loudest by far.

Luke is the baby of the family, but holds his own. He's happy and adorable. And he's a terrible sleeper. =)

Moments We’ll Remember

Momma and her littlest man....

Rainy days and Mondays always get me down. Not really, but wasn’t today a doozy? Both rainy and a Monday? I tell you what. My weekend life is so near perfect that I get down every Monday. Oh, but it won’t be long, because these weeks are flying by. Soon it will be Wednesday, when Dave and I plan to take our kiddos on a mini-vacation, and then Thursday, when we throw a birthday party for Max, then Friday, when I plan to clean, yard sale and camp and hallelujah! That’s the weekend!

These are my people -- some of the many amazing ladies in my family...

So we had a family wedding this past weekend. Not only was Luke the “ring bearer,” i.e. resident cutie patootie who had nothing to do with the rings, but I was one of two matrons of honor for my sweet cousin. Lucky girl married a hot, fine younger man. (Big cheers all around!) It was a ton of fun, and there are many more amazing photos not in my possession now, but these tell a bit of the story.

The beautiful bride/godmother and her godson.

I actually gave a speech on the fly. While I don’t remember exactly what I said, I know I said nice and true things about my cousin and her hunky husband, how they are both incredible friends and people you’d want to call in a crisis. I also hope that part of it was that these are the moments. Let us slow down, enjoy today, enjoy each other. Life isn’t tomorrow or when we hit the lotto or when we become bestselling authors. It’s now, dudes.

As always, I lack sleep and time to write in my actual journal. Kids are sleeping peacefully. Daddy too, snoozing on the loveseat, as I try to finish up this blog and the crime thriller show I had no intention of watching but can’t turn away from until this criminal is caught! Yep, this is life. All is well. And I am enjoying today, in spite of the rain and the Monday and the hole of worry and wasted energy I fell into most of this day.

These are the moments.
