I'm Erin Jo. I'm thinking, writing, dreaming, mothering, loving, living, praising, BLESSED to be Fiona to my Shrek and Mommy to my four amazing kiddos.

dave

Shrek is "like an onion with many layers" but has a heart of gold. He's my husband and my friend, and we just get better all the time.

lily

lily

Lily is my first baby and only girl. She's smart, funny, tall and kind. Keeping up with this girl is a challenge and a joy. She's terrific!

max

max

Max is one part ogre, two parts lover and all boy! Our little man has a temper but gives the best hugs of anyone I know!

colby

colby

Colby is as ornery as he looks. He flirts shamelessly, even with strangers. He's all mouth and curls and the loudest by far.

luke

luke

Luke is the baby of the family, but holds his own. He's happy and adorable. And he's a terrible sleeper. =)

From the Trenches (& an Origami Owl giveaway!)

Oh, momma is tired. The bad news is that in less than twelve hours, I’ll be at work dealing with a couple of firestorms that have cropped up over the weekend. The good news is that I have celebrated ten years of marriage, launched my own side business and cleaned and decorated my house for fall in the last three days. My body aches, and I’m tired, but I said that already.

I’m now an independent designer for Origami Owl. The company’s main product is the Living Locket, a glass bauble you fill with charms to tell your own story. I’m loving these products because they are fun to create, easy to wear and even easier to personalize in meaningful ways. I’m not sure about you, but I’m sick of buying my mom the same general list every year for Christmas. I’ve got some new ideas this year!

Today I had an open house. Lily and niece Julia above were some of my assistants/customers. It was fun to see them build their own “dream lockets.” Even at 8, these girls know their reasons and their friendship, even though a short time after this photo was taken, I found this note taped on the outside of Lily’s bedroom door…

Ah hahaha. These two are sisters of the heart for sure! Made up in no time and will be friends forever, no doubt. (Forever and ever and ever!!)

Anyway, here’s my first locket, to remind me of the beach:

I’ve had a great time putting together my display and studying up on the company late into the night these past few weeks. I’m looking forward to sharing the products with even more friends and family. Let me know if you’re interested!

So, like I said, the marriage is going strong…

The house is clean and decorated for fall…

And I have a beautiful, excellent, competent assistant for the new venture in my life…

So, while this blog has had to wait, and there are not enough hours in the day, all is well.

I have decided I spend too much of each day awake. I must get more sleep. My body hates me. I need it as an ally in this world and in this life. So, with this update finally posted, I am going to get to it. It’s another busy, blessed week to be me, and I am ready. (Well, after this quick nap, of course….)

Your open house was great! It really got me into the fall mood with your treats and scents in the house. I love these lockets and all the variety there is to put in them. I always admired the necklaces with the child figureens with birthstones in them growing up and now that I have a little one of my own, I would like to start my first locket with that charm for him and with a heart for my hubby. Good luck with your first show!!

  14. EJ says:
